Drumstick is mostly grown as a backyard tree in most of the South Indian homes. It has drumstick like fruits, small white flowers and small and round leaves which are cooked and eaten as vegetable.Pregnant women should often eat drumsticks as it helps ease any kind of pre and post delivery complication.Lactating mothers can benefit a lot from the health benefits of drumstick leaves and fruit. Drumstick leaves is an ideal tonic for pregnant and lactating mothers and provide them with the calcium. 2 cups sliced Onion
1 cup chopped Tomatoes
2-3 Finely chopped green chilli
1 tsp Cruised ginger
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tbsp chopped green coriander leaves
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste
pinch of asofatida
Cut it into small pieces and Boiled drumsticks for 5-6 min at high flame.Keep a side for cooling . Collect all the pulp with help of knife in bowl . Keep a side .
Now take a heated kadai or pan put the oil in a kadhai , add the cumin seeds . When the seeds crackle add garlic, ginger, green chilies onions and saute on a medium flame till they turn translucent.
Now add turmeric powder,salt ,coriander powder, garam masala and saute on a medium flame for 1 minutes.
Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook it foe 2-3 min .
Now add Drumstick pulp and mix it , cook for 3-4 min at low flame .
Now add chopped green coriander leaves
Spicy Drumstick Bharta is ready to eat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
