Todai i am going to make aalu poshto . Its is a very popular dish in Bengal. Bengal is a state on the east coast of India. Most of the Bengal region lies in the Ganges-Brahmaputra delta. Bangal is very famous for Fishes .Its has great culture history about food and their customs and litreture . Actually i am pure vegetarian so i am not bale to discribe more baout Non-veg dishes . but i have so many friends who are crazy for bangali dishes for fish.
I am going to add puppy seeds with aalu .Tt gives nice color and flavor. Combination of Potatoes and poppy seeds are really awesome flavor, its give little sweet . we can make this dish with different types . We can make it with gravy or dry .Today i am going to make dry allu poshto . Next time i will make it with gravy . Basically Alu Poshto gravy is actually a kind of Dum Alu. Dum Alu is essentially potatoes cooked in a sauce under steam . The potatoes slowly cook in the spicy, poppy seeds paste , and cook with all masalas .
- 4 medium size potato (half boiled)
- 2 tbsp poppy seeds (Khaskhas)
- 2 dry red chilli (whole)
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp oil salt to taste
- 1 tbsp coriander leave (chopped).
- 1 tsp cruised black pepper.
Half boiled potatoes cut into cubes .
Now take a heated pan and put oil .and add potatoes cubes fry it . stirring in between .Keep a side
Now roast the poppy seeds. for 2-3 min at medium flame .
Coarsely grind in mixer with few drops of water and keep a side.
Now take a heated pan add oil put red chilli and turmeric for 2-3 sec now. Add poppy seeds paste .Cook for 2 min now add fried potatoes .
Mix it and cook for 6-8 min at low flame.Add chopped coriander leaves
Now poshto is ready to eat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
